Frequently Asked Questions

Where can I find my Corporation Tax Number (UTR) number?

HMRC will send this by post within 10 days of incorporating your company and it will be on all corporation tax letters sent to you subsequently by HMRC.

For example, your UTR will be shown on:

  1. Previous tax returns
  2. Payment reminders
  3. Notices to file tax returns
  4. Statements of account

Your UTR number can also be found by logging in to your Government Gateway account, with your account summary section.

Note: Your company UTR code must not be confused with your personal UTR code (which is used for self assessment and takes a similar 10 digit format).
