01 The problem we kept seeing
The software itself often felt like it had been built for accountants rather than small businesses.
Many platforms tried to cater for every type of business imaginable, from large e-commerce companies to multi-site franchises. In practice, that often created overly complex systems with confusing workflows that didn't fit the needs of freelancers, contractors and consultants particularly well.

We started Mighty to combine modern accounting software with real human support in a way that felt simpler, clearer and more approachable.
Rather than relying entirely on disconnected third-party systems, we began building software internally around the workflows freelancers, contractors and consultants actually use every day.
That allows us to improve the platform continuously based on direct client feedback and real accounting experience.
03 Still building
Mighty continues to evolve as both a software platform and an accountancy firm.
We're continuing to expand the platform across bookkeeping, payroll, VAT, accounts production and tax workflows, while keeping the experience simple and approachable for clients.
Our goal is straightforward. To build the accounting experience we always wished existed.
