Post Box
Receipts sorted the moment you send them
HMRC expects you to keep receipts for six years. Mighty makes that the easy part: WhatsApp, email or upload them to your Post Box, and they're read, stored and matched to your bank payments, with your accountant able to see the lot.
- Included in your plan, no per-receipt charges
- Send receipts by WhatsApp or email
- Kept with your books for HMRC's six-year rule
01How it works
From pocket to books in four short steps
- 1
Send it in.
WhatsApp a photo of the receipt, forward an email, or upload the file. Every route lands in the same Post Box.
- 2
Mighty reads it.
Where possible, the supplier, date and amount are picked out automatically, so there's often nothing to type at all.
- 3
One click to action.
Where Mighty spots the matching bank payment, it suggests it on the receipt, and matching takes a single click. Paid personally? Create an expense claim instead, with the details already filled in.
- 4
Kept for the long haul.
Every receipt is stored against your bookkeeping, so the six-year record-keeping rule looks after itself. No more shoeboxes of receipts or endless folders of unsorted photos.
02What's included
Everything your receipts need, in one place
Receipts by WhatsApp
Save your number once, then send receipts the way you'd message a friend.
Your own Post Box address
Prefer email? Your company gets a unique Post Box address. Forward receipts to it, or hand it to suppliers so their invoices arrive sorted before you've seen them.
Suggested bank matches
Mighty compares each receipt with your bank feed and suggests the payment it belongs to, so matching can be a click, not a search.
Expense claims, pre-filled
Bought something with your own money? Turn the receipt into a claim without retyping a thing. All you'll need to do is reimburse yourself.
Match it yourself
Crumpled receipt or blurry photo? No need to type anything in. Just match it to the bank payment yourself and it's done.
Bulk upload for backlogs
Moving to Mighty with a drawer full of paperwork? Upload the lot in one go.
03Your accountant
Your accountant sees every receipt too
Because every receipt sits against the transaction it belongs to, your dedicated accountant isn't chasing paperwork at year end. Questions about an expense get answered by looking at the actual receipt, and anything unusual gets caught while it's still fresh, not twelve months later.

Hi Sarah,
No, you won't need to send paper receipts to me. Just WhatsApp them, email them, or upload them straight into Mighty's Post Box, and they'll be stored and matched up with the right bank payment. No more keeping paper copies, and nothing to hunt down at year end. If I ever have a question about an expense, checking the receipt is my first port of call.
Many thanks,
James
04Records HMRC is happy with
Six years of receipts, none of the filing
HMRC expects companies to keep records, receipts included, for six years. Post Box keeps every receipt stored, dated and attached to the payment it explains, so if anyone ever asks, the evidence is a search away rather than a loft trip away. The days of shoeboxes full of receipts are long gone, fortunately for you (and for us, as your accountants). And if you'd rather keep your own copies too, that's fine; Post Box isn't compulsory, it's just easier.
Included in your plan
Post Box comes with every Mighty plan. No per-receipt charges, no storage fees, no limits on how many you send in a month.
per month
Can I really send receipts by WhatsApp?
Yes. Add your mobile number in your company settings, then send photos of receipts to Mighty's WhatsApp number. They land in your Post Box alongside everything else.
What file types can I send?
By email or upload: PDF, JPEG, PNG and HEIC, up to 50MB each. By WhatsApp: photos.
Can I put several receipts in one email?
Yes. Attach as many as you like and each one becomes its own entry in Post Box.
Can suppliers send invoices straight to it?
Yes. Give a supplier your Post Box address as your billing email and their invoices arrive in Mighty automatically.
What happens if Mighty can't read a receipt?
Nothing's lost. The receipt is stored either way, and you can match it to the bank payment yourself or add the details by hand.
Do I have to use Post Box?
No. You're free to keep receipts your own way. Most clients find it easier to have them stored next to the bookkeeping they belong to, and it means your accountant can see them too.
How long are receipts kept?
For as long as you're with Mighty, covering the six years HMRC expects, and you can download any receipt whenever you like.
What about things I paid for personally?
Create an expense claim straight from the receipt. The details are pre-filled from the scan, and the claim goes through your books the proper way.
I've got a backlog. Can I upload receipts in bulk?
Yes. Upload them in one go and Mighty works through reading them.
Why is the Post Box address random letters rather than my company name?
So nobody can guess it. A predictable address would let anyone send documents into your books.
